Toronto Portlands Engagement Photography
Lianne and Ian spend most of their time in China teaching but decided to get married in Toronto where most of Lianne’s family lived. They decided on Toronto Portlands engagement photography for the large variety of backgrounds available in a small area.
We started out at the Cherry Street bridge, which may seem like an odd place for photos but its steel support beams and teal fencing provided an interesting scene. I loved using the wide angle lens to really accentuate the architecture. Lianne and Ian were all smiles and a joy to work with as we tried different shots on the bridge.
After leaving the bridge we continued down Cherry Street to the Cherry Street Beach. I have been here mostly with my mini-schnauzer Lucy for one of Toronto’s best off leash dog parks. Not wanting wet dogs to be shaking Lake Ontario water on us we chose the relative safety checking out the rest of the beach. Walking along the beach with the calm lake in the background was the perfect spot to focus on the love between them. The sun peaked out from behind the overcast for a few moments and I loved the way in came through the trees.
The last stop on our Toronto portlands engagement photography session was the Polson Pier. This is a favourite spot among all sorts of photographers to catch the sunset over the Toronto’s skyline. It is always slightly different too which makes it fun. As we approached the lake, we saw that it was a busy night on the pier. There were a bunch of photographers with tripods, a fashion shoot. and a bunch of people snapping cell phone selfies. We staked out or little spot and the sky cooperated as we got some dramatic clouds over the city. This was an epic way to finish the shoot and Lianne and Ian still managed to get their fun personality into the images.
